Here is a map I did of the Spanish town Almeria for Bmi Baby inflight magazine - YeahBaby.
I’m working on a couple more maps at the moment too, so once they are finished I’m looking forward to creating a separate portfolio on my website with all my map illustrations in.
You can now find my ‘short lapses of silence’ illustration in Boneshaker Magazine’s postcard pack - available on their shop.
I was really chuffed to be asked as my image is in great company along side some really ace illustrations by Stevie Gee, John Coe, Abi Stevens, Joe Waldron and Rosie Gainsborough.
Last December, I went to Blackpool with YCN to illustrate at a conference for Merlin. While there we were asked to help them visualise their ideas, and aftwards we worked up their ideas into a finished poster - Above is my poster for an idea my group had where families build their own bed or overnight stay.
I recently worked on an interesting project with Rob Elsworth of Sandbags to create a front cover illustration for a Climate change report. The report, that will be launched tomorrow at the European Parliament, is about the ‘China’s changing economic imperatives and its tentative look to emissions trading.’
Using the analogy of China’s slow but steady turn towards a greener future, being like that of a tanker slowly changing it’s course, I created the below illustration.
It was a fun commission and I’m really pleased with the way the image works as a simple metaphor but also contains lots of more detailed references to the contents of the report.
My print ‘We’re not out of the woods yet’ is now available in The Flood Gallery, Greenwich London.

The rather awesome O’Messy Life are having a gig to celebrate the launch of their New Single. You can find out more about the single HERE.
I was asked by the band to produce a poster for their double A side single, featuring the songs Little Vehicles and Space Holiday, which will be out on 23rd April 2012. As they’re inspired by Heaven’s Gate suicide cult I based my colour scheme around the fact that the victims were covered in a purple cloth and dressed in black. I’ve also included the silhouette of the mansion where the 39 members of the group had committed suicide, and the Hale-Bopp comet which was the trigger for the mass suicide.
Here’s a recent gig poster that I did for The Heartbreak’s Newcastle show. You can find out more info HERE
Last summer I was commissioned by Limehouse Books to illustrate the front cover and end papers of a new novel by Sophia Blackwell. Using one of my previous illustrations as the main source of reference I was asked to convey the sense of the main character being on a journey of self discovery. The book is about Evie Day questioning her sexuality and her quest to find ‘the one’.
You can find out more about the novel HERE and buy a copy from Amazon HERE.
I’m really pleased with how the book has turned out, Emily Foster at Limehouse books has done a really great job with the design and end papers. It’s my first published book cover so it was pretty exciting to finally get my hands on a copy at the launch party last week.
Here is the promo artwork that I illustrated for The Flood Gallery Junior, a gallery in Greenwich that I’m helping to launch. The store is a new venture from The Flood Gallery and specialises in family-friendly limited edition art prints. This is the first time I’ve illustrated anything specifically for kids and I’m pretty happy with it. I think ‘Captain Legs’ might crop up a lot more in the future…
The opening night is this Thursday (March 1) and if is anyone is in the Greenwich area it would be ace if you popped by - you’ll even get a free cupcake! We will be showcasing lots of our newest prints and products from awesome Eleanor Grosch, Family Tree Design and Poketo.

Last Summer John Coe coecreative.com and I worked on a design tender for Shambala Festival. I created the illustrations while John created visuals for websites, brochures and promotional products, onto which my illustrations were then placed. I really enjoyed this project and although we did not win the tender it was a really great experience working with John and seeing my illustration brought to life in different contexts.
I was commissioned by the Canadian business magazine Profit to illustrate two articles for the March edition. The illustration above was to accompany an article about how companies are able to crowd source their own market research via social media platforms. A mountain bike company featured in the article is seen here looking out over conservations that they are able to access and utilise via social media.
The illustration below is for a piece about rewarding sales staff with bonuses which are dependent on their achievements.
I’ll just added lots of new prints for sale on my SHOP
including this London illustration available as a Giclee print
I was recently asked by The Skinny to create an e-book illustration for their Book section in the February edition of the mag.
I’ve finished building my new website!
www.kerryhyndman.co.uk is where it lives.
I’ve recently been working with the awesome band O’Messy Life doing a poster for their series of ’ O’Messy life present’ gigs. I’ll also working on some more space themed illustrations for then to be revealed soon.
In the mean time you should give you ears a treat and give em a listen… here
