I was recently asked by Boneshaker magazine to create an illustration for Issue #7 to accompany an article by Jet McDonald. The article included reference to a trip where Jet found himself enjoying ‘short lapses of silence’ while cycling on a plateau through the Turkish mountains. In contrast to this memory he also talks about the busy, hectic and noisy experiencing of cycling in a city where people seem preoccupied with jumping red lights and listening to music rather than enjoying the simplicity of the ride. It was these images that I chose to focus on in the spot illustrations.
The illustration that I did for The Times Law section last week about summer reads for lawyers is now up on my WEBSITE
I have an illustration in The Times today! It accompanies an article about good reads for lawyers on their summer holidays. You can see my illustration in page 51 of the newspaper. You’ll also be able to find it on the LAW pages of the website.
I was recently asked by one of my favourite magazines, Computer Arts to do some illustration for the Design Manual section of their Mag. I created the front cover image, for an article about pitching ideas. I then created 9 further images to accompany the 10 tips to pitching success.
Last month I was commissioned by Wired UK to illustrate an article by Mark Changizi about the way the human brain understands language. The article was about the rhythms and sounds of nature being mimicked by language.
I was terrified what I started this illustration as it was my first proper magazine commission, but in the end I’m really pleased with the way it turned out, and looking forward to the next one! You can find the article and illustration in the August edition of Wired UK.
